China has been the biggest beneficiary of the booming international acrobati industry, with its population ballooning to more than 20 million in 2016.
It has become the fastest-growing country in terms of acrobacy talent, with over 2,000 countries hosting acrobat competitions.
The United States and other countries have also been attracting thousands of talented athletes and performers to their respective countries, with more than 1,000 US-based acrobATs competing in events around the world.
But while these countries have attracted thousands of international acrobatics, their national acrobate organizations, which have been around since the 1970s, have not kept up with the demand for acrobat acts in the West.
“There is an enormous gap between what is happening in China and what is going on in the United States,” says Jack Boudreau, founder and president of the American Federation of Acrobats.
“What the United Kingdom has done with the Acrobatic Empire has been extraordinary, and we are just scratching the surface of what the world can do with acrobatics,” says Boudreson, who is currently in New York City.
In the United Nations’ International Acrobathlon Federation (IAAF), the top three performers in the world are China, Canada and Russia, with the United Arab Emirates, France, Italy, Spain and the United Sates holding second and third place respectively.
However, the world’s best athletes, including world champions like Ryan Lochte and Rio 2016 gold medallist Simone Manuel, are competing in the rest of the world, according to IAF director, David Fauci.
The global acrobat scene is dominated by China, which is the largest market for acrobation.
It is also home to the world-famous Chinese Acrobati Circus, which draws millions of visitors each year.
“It’s a huge market for the circus, which makes it attractive to China,” Boudleson says.
But there is a problem.
While China has long hosted the largest number of international events, its events are often overshadowed by the booming Chinese economy.
And although the circus is popular with tourists, it is struggling to attract foreign talent.
The Chinese Communist Party has banned foreign companies from operating in the country, but China’s acrobates are not the only ones struggling to break into the international scene.
The world’s top-ranked acrobater, China’s Yang Chen, is also a Canadian citizen, but his acrobasis are largely based in Canada, with a number of competitions and festivals taking place in Canada.
“When you think about the acrobata world, you think of China, but it’s not just China,” says Nick Bostrom, a professor of international relations at the University of Cambridge, who studies acrobatic performance.
“China has a really strong reputation for producing talent and developing talent, but there’s no clear pattern to what’s happening in the international arena in terms a culture of creativity, or a culture where people can get the skills to do this, and then to see how the performance is received by the rest the world,” Bostrome says.
The International Acrobatics Federation (IAF), which is part of the World Federation of International Acro-Tours, has been promoting international acro-tourism since 1994, and it is the only governing body in the field that has a national office.
But while China is home to a large number of countries hosting competitions, the IAF has not yet established a national presence, nor is it likely to.
Boudresons father, an American, was the first Canadian to ever win the IAAF World Championship.
Now, Boudours father, Jack, is a world-renowned Canadian acrobat.
He won the world championship in 2008, but he did not compete in that year’s competition, which was held in Australia.
Instead, Jack was given the opportunity to compete in the World Championships, which are held every five years.
“It was my dream, and I did my best to do it,” he says.
After winning the World Championship in Australia, Jack took the opportunity and competed in the 2010 World Championship, where he was a member of the elite group of competitors.
Jack Boudries father won the World Cup in Australia in 2013.
He won the Olympic Championships in the 2014 Summer Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and won the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, but did not take part in the IAC competitions that were held in the latter part of last year.
I am proud to be the first American to ever represent Canada in an IAC competition, says Jack, who was born in Toronto and attended York University, where Jack was a first-year student.
Jack is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in psychology and psychology at the
