Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard: ‘It’s going to be a long time’ before he feels back in action

Liverpool’s former captain Steven Gerrard has said that he is hoping to be back playing for the Reds in January, but admitted that it will be a “long time” before he is back in the team.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Monday, Gerrard said that Liverpool would be in good hands if they can get him back in their line-up.

“I hope I’m playing in January but I don’t know yet.

I think it’s a good chance but I’m not 100 per cent sure.

I’m really worried about my knee,” Gerrard said.”

It’s been a bit of a challenge for me.

I’ve had some soreness and soreness in my knee and I’ve got to get back and play.”

While Liverpool are still hopeful of a deal done with the player, Liverpool are also yet to agree with the Liverpool FC medical staff on a long-term solution.

Speaking to Sky Sports last month, Rodgers admitted that he did not know if he would be fit for the start of the new Premier League season, adding that he had a “lot of work to do”.
